At the Centers of light, we have thought about the hard work and determination that peace workers have shown as they continue their missions around the globe. We sympathize with the difficulties, hardships, and frustrations that accompany these worthy deeds. We understand that their souls, their spirits and their inner peace are the fuel that fires these peace worker’s selfless acts. We see how difficult it is for these people to rest, regroup and recharge themselves. We know that without this critical rest, regrouping and recharging these devoted and diligent workers may not be able to continue their mission of peace.

To help peace workers help humanity, we are building the Sophia Peace Center. The Sophia Peace Center will provide retreat space for nonprofit agencies with payments based on a sliding scale. Agencies with extremely limited funds will not have to pay anything to stay. Our dedicated staff will offer programming related to growing inner peace while striving for outer peace.

Most importantly, the Sophia Peace Center will give groups of peace workers from around the world a place to come for retreat and rejuvenation. This will help their mission and allow all of us to move closer to the elusive, but attainable goal of world peace. The Sophia Peace Center will also be the sight of the Sophia Temple for World Peace. This will be an interfaith temple that hosts a 24-hour peace and meditation vigil. Streams of prayers and meditation will issue forth to change the collective consciousness of the planet to one that works together in a brother and sisterhood of peace and compassion.

The Sophia Peace Center, already under construction, is located in the beautiful four corners area of Southwestern Colorado. Perched atop a mesa, with views of snow-capped mountains on three sides and the San Juan national forest on the other, it is breathtakingly beautiful. Much of it has already been built and fundraising continues.
