• Spiritual Milestones and Initiations •

Spiritual development parallels physical development in the sense that although we have many aspects of our maturation that are unique, there are also developmental milestones that are common to human beings. In the spiritual realm, these milestones are called initiations. Three major initiations occur in each of the significant mystical traditions and form the basis for spiritual development. Unlike physical maturation, movement through the spiritual initiations requires the consciousness and action of one who has been taught and empowered to bring others through this process. In this Order we call these people Priests and Teachers.

In many ways the presence of initiations defines the Mystical Path because no amount of education, learning, reading, theory, or meditation will bring us into these levels of spiritual functioning. It is something that can only be experienced through the submission to a Spiritual Teacher and the process of spiritual development.
